Mission Statement: Friends Journeying Together
Vision Statement: Our vision is of global friendships and partnerships with a flourishing Diocese of Toliara, fulfilling God’s mission in Madagascar and around the world.
The Friends of Toliara is a voluntary organisation whose purpose is to foster meaningful relationships with the Diocese of Toliara and assist the Diocese in fulfilling its vision of growing and moving forward in Christ . We work with and alongside the people of the Diocese and expect that this will transform us too.
We pray and support the Diocese as they strive to further the Kingdom of God in the south of Madagascar. Our support is given by sharing our thoughts and skills by email, Skype or Zoom, in-person visits (when possible) and by donations.
The Malagasy name for us is Longo EEM Toliara:
Longo is the local Malagasy for translation of friend
EEM is Eklesia Episkopaly Malagasy (the Episcopal Church of Madagascar, a part of the Anglican Communion Worldwide)
Toliara is the administrative area covered by this Anglican Diocese in the south of Madagascar.
We invite you to join us as we journey together.
“I’m thankful for all of you every time I pray, and it’s always a prayer full of joy. I’m glad because of the way you have been my partners in the ministry of the gospel from the time you first believed it until now. I’m sure about this: the one who started a good work in you will stay with you to complete the job by the day of Christ Jesus. ” Philippians 1:4-6 CEB
