As part of the Anglican Communion, the Diocese of Toliara is committed to the Five Marks of Mission which express the Anglican Communion’s common commitment to, and understanding of, God’s holistic and integral mission. The mission of the Church is the mission of Christ.
The Five Marks of Mission:
- To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
- To teach, baptise and nurture new believers
- To respond to human need by loving service
- To transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and pursue peace and reconciliation
- To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth
The Diocese considers a holistic ministry of evangelism, education, social and economic development and environmental stewardship to be the ministry of the Diocese in providing hope to the people in the Province of Toliara, which covers the south western and southern part of Madagascar.
Partners elsewhere in the world help to support these ministries.
