Data Privacy Notice for the Diocese of Toliara and the Friends of Toliara

1. Your personal data – what is it?

Personal data relates to a living individual who can be identified from that data. Identification can be by the information alone or in conjunction with any other information which we have or are likely to obtain in the future.

2. Who are we?

The Diocese of Toliara is a religious entity organized under the laws of Madagascar. It is a member of the Province of the Indian Ocean, part of the worldwide Anglican Communion.

The Friends of Toliara is a voluntary organization whose purpose is to foster meaningful international relationships with the Diocese of Toliara in Madagascar and assist the Diocese in fulfilling its vision of growing and moving forward in Christ.

The purposes for which we use your data, and how we process that data, are set out in this document.

3. How do we process your personal data?

We process your data responsibly by: by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access and disclosure; making any updates and corrections of which we are aware; and by deleting it when requested.

We use your personal data to inform you of news of the Diocese of Toliara and the Friends of Toliara by means of email messages. If you provide personal data when leaving a comment, we may use the data to provide a personal reply by email.

4. What consents are you providing?

  • We have received your explicit consent to email you as described above.
  • We will not disclose your data to any third party without your further consent.
  • Notwithstanding the above, we may use your data in other ways if required to do so by an official authority.

5. How long do we keep your personal data?

We keep data until you request that information be deleted by either unsubscribing by using the “Unsubscribe” button or by specific request to the organization.

6. We recognize that you have the following rights:

  • The right to request a copy of your personal data which we hold about you;
  • The right to request that we correct any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date;
  • The right to request your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary for us to retain such data;
  • The right to withdraw your consent for us to process your data or contact you.

7. Further processing

If we wish to use your personal data for a new purpose, not covered by this Data Protection Notice, we will send you an explanation of what we would like to do, and seek your prior consent.
